On June 12th, 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming The Right Start program to our facility for a fun and memorable day. The visit began with an interactive and engaging electrical safety demonstration by our Safety & Loss Control Manager, Joe H.

After the safety demonstration, the kids embarked on an exciting scavenger hunt through various departments. This activity provided them with a unique opportunity to explore the career opportunities NEC has to offer while getting a closer look at our facility. The scavenger hunt concluded with a pizza party, where everyone enjoyed a couple of slices and participated in a fun craft, allowing them to take home a memento of their visit. The event also included the screening of educational videos, further enriching the day with valuable knowledge.

A highlight of the day was the check presentation ceremony. The Right Start had applied for and received a grant, and it was heartwarming to see the kids' excitement as they were presented with the check. This moment symbolized the tangible impact of our support and underscored the importance of investing in the next generation.

The Right Start remains a division of the FOCUS Foundation (For Our Children’s Ultimate Success). In 2023, the program expanded to Texas A&M University – Kingsville, with the help of the TAMUK – Kinesiology Department. This expansion introduced services and opportunities unique to their campus, enriching the program's offerings in physical activity, academic instruction, new experiences, and higher education.

Seeing our contributions in action through the joy and enthusiasm of the participants was truly inspiring. The Right Start’s visit was a testament to the positive change we can achieve together, fostering growth, learning, and community for our children’s ultimate success.
