VEGETATION MANAGEMENT

Tree Trimming and Safety Near Power Lines
For the safety of our members and the reliability of electric service, Nueces Electric Cooperative uses a professional vegetation management service to trim or remove trees that pose a risk to power lines or equipment. If you believe a tree on your property is too close to NEC infrastructure, please contact us to request an inspection. A qualified representative will assess the situation and coordinate trimming or removal with our contracted professionals.

Important Safety Reminder
By law, only professionals authorized by the local electric utility may trim or remove trees near energized power lines. Never attempt this work yourself--serious injury or death can occur when untrained individuals handle trees around live electrical equipment. NEC's contracted crews are specifically trained and equipped to perform this work safely.

Debris Handling
Debris removal is managed by the contracted service. In storm or emergency situations, property owners may be responsible for clearing fallen trees or debris not related to routine maintenance.

What Members Can Do

🚫For your safety, never approach or touch a power line.

  • Report vegetation concerns near power lines to NEC.
  • Never attempt to trim or remove trees near power lines yourself.
  • Call 811 dig before digging to locate underground utilities.
