NEC New Service Information
The information below is the process for apply for power distribution utility service for an existing home, apartment or business. Please note: Nueces Electric Cooperative is your delivery company. This means, Nueces Electric builds and maintains power lines and maintains and reads your electric meter(s) each month. When you have a power outage, you will contact Nueces Electric Cooperative directly who will dispatch line crews to service your lines.
Meter readings from your electric meter will be given to your retail electric provider each month who will calculate your final charges. Nueces Electric Cooperative will act as your billing representative but does not have any control over retail rates.
Step 1: Apply For Service
Step 2: A Member Care Representative will contact you to complete your request and answer any questions. Please do not move on to Step 3 before receiving a phone call from a Member Care Representative.
Step 3: Choose a Provider
Step 4: Your provider will contact us and we will connect your service within 3-5 business days after they contact us.
