Nueces Electric Cooperative understands the hardship many of our members may face amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We are committed to being responsive to our member's needs and providing the best support possible during this rapidly changing time. During this crisis, NEC will maintain this webpage with resource links and information to help support our members. We encourage all of our members to follow public health officials' guidance on what they can do to protect themselves and their families.
The programs and initiatives in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security(CARES) Act that was just passed by Congress are intended to assist business owners with whatever needs they have right now. When implemented, there will be many new resources available for small businesses, as well as certain nonprofits and other employers.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act is an Act of Congress meant to respond to the economic impacts of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. The act will provide funding for free coronavirus testing, 14-day paid leave for American workers affected by the pandemic, and increased funding for food stamps. This act is primarily target towards employers to help assist with employee coronavirus resources.
